"mornings on 2" begins right now. well, good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. we're continuing to track developing news in palo alto where a suspected dui driver has been arrested for hitting a fire hydrant. ktvu channel 2 reporter janine de la vega is live on sandhill road with a look at the flooding and how traffic is being affected. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning, tori. well, actual iy, this intersection at sandhill and el camino just opened up about tree minutes ago -- three minutes ago. work crews were trying to work quickly to get this cleaned up

because this road is used to get on 280. this whole area was flooded for the past five hours because a hydrant was shooting water into the air. here is a look at this guiser. officers say just before 1:00 a.m., the driver lost control and hit the fire hydrant and kept driving. police caught up with him and arrested him for suspected dui. it took several hours for public work crews to shut off the water because they had a hard time getting to the valve. >> at first, the guiser was about 50 feet high. it was a constant stream of water. it flooded the roadways where we stopped traffic going westbound and we had to block off eastbound traffic as well so the cars would not hydroplane or anything like that. >> reporter: the driver is 22 years old of woodside. police say he was cooperative. public work crews spent the morning mopping up the water

and the debris and securing the hydrant of the police were using the parking lot to detour around the flooded area. back out here live, this intersection at sandhill and el camino is back open. you can just see the roads still wet but you can travel on them. good news for commuters, especially those who use sandhill to get through. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. five first responders became the victims in redwood city. they were hospitalized after a hazmat scare. firefighters with the sequoia trailer park -- went to the sequoia trailer park and say people there had set off a bug fogger but did not leave the home. they called 911 after starting to deal the effects of the insect tide. firefighters and -- insecticides.

firefighters and three residents were taken to the hospital. they are all expected to be okay. well, classes resume, schools are open again this morning in newton, except for sandy hook elementary. we have new details about the mother of the shooter in that rampage. people who knew nancy lanza say she was devoted to her children. one aunt said she would come to school and help her son who was a quiet child. many say that nancy would also help friends an traingers. in the meantime, we still know very little about why the young gunman killed children at that elementary school. the fbi said they couldn't get information from a computer at the gunman's home because he had destroyed it with either a hammer or a screwdriver before that massacre. while we're hearing stories of mostly horrifying events related to the shooting, now we're also hearing a story of how one 6-year-old managed to survive. police say a 6-year-old girl

preed -- pretended to be dead and that ultimately saved her life. many experts say while she's lucky to be alive, what she saw of her classmates being killed will stay with her the rest of her life. an 18-year-old in fairfield is behind bars, accused of posting online threats similar to friday's connecticut shooting. this man was arrested yesterday. investigators say a facebook on -- a post on facebook brought this about. and in the wake of the deadly shooting, many bay area schools are still on high alert. allie rasmus is live in pleasant hill with more on a scare yesterday that had police searching two local campuses. good morning, allie. >> reporter: well, good morning. we just talked to the principal at sequoia middle school who said after what happened

yesterday, this prank call ended up being a false alarm but she says she wants toed send out the mess -- wants to send out the message that this threats are being taken seriously. now, the schools went into lockdown yesterday after someone called the front office and said "you're next" and simply hung up. police were notified. they came to the campus and they determined there was no real threat. the mt. diablo school district's superintendent sent a recorded message to all parents in the district explaining the content of that phone call and the school's response to and the principal of sequoia says even though this was a prank, their response was warranted. >> by no means is this a laughing matter. and people are apprehensive of returning to school. we need to make sure that we

are staying.com and focused and safe. and by creating this sort of distraction it only adds to disrupt our school and student life. >> reporter: and that was the sequoia principal and the superintendent also added that a full investigation has been launched. police will be working with the phone's company to determine where that call came from. now, when some parents found out about this lockdown yesterday. they came to the schools to check thought the kids. the district said any parent who was ifed and goes through the -- fingerprinted and goes through the background, they can get involved and it is good to have extra sets of eyes on the campus of these schools to provide an extra layer of security. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. a man from mill valley was arrested for the third time in a month after he refused to leave an animal shelter where his pets had been taken.

police say his dogs and canaries were taken after he was arrested for a variety of offenses. he's accused of yelling at his apartment manager, blocking traffic, vie rating a court -- violating a court order in a custody case. police say he went to the shelter to get his animals back but he could not pay the impound fees. staffers say they asked him to leave several times and eventually they called police when he refused to go. well, crews will be shutting down part of a very busy contra costa road today. right now, one lane of marsh street road in clayton is closed. crews are trying to fix that road because a culvert has failed and it's possible a sinkhole is forming. about 9:00, marsh creek will be completely shut down between deer valley road and pine lane. if you are driving, you will be

some storeowners also say the president's promise to deal with the gun issue has caused an increase in sales. dick's sports goods says they are pulling certain rifles off the shelves nationwide. the company also announced it is taking all guns off closest to newtown. the company says that's out of respect for the victims and the families of last week's shooting tragedy. well, the connecticut shooting has a lot of people calling for tougher gun law controls. but that does not include the governor of texas, rick perry. coming up -- the offer made. new developments made this morning on the fiscal cliff. house speaker john boehner is offering what he calls a plan-b option. we're live in washington, d.c. to find out what exactly is

would rather forget. >> ingle thinks his kidnappers were loyal to the syrian government. he says they were not physically abused but there was psychological torture. the kidnappers would ask them to choose which would be shot first and when they refused, there were mock shootings. 7:20. a preliminary hearing set said in the -- debt today in the case of a san francisco -- set today in the case of a san francisco couple who kissed a pimp. prosecutors say they murdered this man in june after finding out their daughter may have been working a as prostitute for him. he was shot -- as a prostitute for him. he was shot in his car. two other men are also charged in this case. and a preliminary hearing will be held today for a san francisco man accused of performing cosmetic surgery without a license. prosecutors say nine people reported getting botched

procedures from carlos guzman at the derma clinic in san francisco's mission district. those procedures include liposuction and face lifts. he's also been charged with sexual assaults. lawmakers are considering a vehicle license fee increase. if approved, the fee would go up to 2% of the vehicle's value. that would raise about $70 million for the city. the board of supervisors will reside -- will decide whether to put the proposal on the november 2014 ballot. it would need a simple majority to pass. zip car is expanding its san jose fleet. the car-sharing business will add 15 new vehicles including one that's all electric. san jose will let those cars park for free in city-owned parking lots. every zip car results in 15 privately owned cars being taken off city streets. stip car already has 12 cars that park on private -- on

welcome back. the governor of texas, rick perry, says he can solve and prevent any more mass shootings at schools like the one in connecticut. he says give guns to teachers. perry told a tea party group that "knee jerk gun control legislation is not the answer." instead, he say, teachers and administrators with proper training should be allowed to

carry weapons on campus. >> if you go through the process and you have been duly backgrounded and trained and you are a concealed handgun license-carrying individual, you should be able to carry your handgun anywhere in this state. >> now, the state of texas, like some other states, instead of seeing a boom in gun sales since the shooting, some people say they are buying guns for protection. others say they fear the gun control legislation will make it hard to buy guns in the future. 7:25. flags at school across the bay area will remain at half-staff until tonight. many schools have counselors available for students. schools are also sending out e- mails and making calls to parents ensuring their children are safe. many districts say they have several lockdown -- lockdown procedures in place.

we want to check in with sal and see what's happening on the roads this morning. kind of busy, sal? >> it is busy. we were just having a conversation in the newsroom about how it will start to get lighter as we get closer to the christmas hoyle-- holiday. some people are noticing a little bit of a dropoff in traffic. i think by the end of the week you will really start to notice this. the bay bridge toll plaza is backed up for about a 20, 25- minute delay. also looking at peninsula because highway -- at the peninsula, highway 101 is about nine minutes from 380 to highway 92. not a bad traffic time. across the bay, southbound 880 heavier from 238 as you drive from union city. let's go to steve. sal, thank you. cold, windy, breezy for some. a few clouds up to the north and also along the coast.

there's a lot of cold, unstable air coming down but there's too dry air coming to us. you can see some of that shower activity coming off the north coast. some of that could go right after the -- right off the coast. i think it will be a sunny, cold and breezy day. just so you know it will be very cold tomorrow morning. also frost and freeze warnings have been posted. we'll talk about that coming up more and also on the rain. 7:27. controversy in san mateo over a new 7-11 store. the reason some say that store should be shut down. >> reporter: we're live in concord at the scene of a brazen burglary. we'll tell you what the thief was after and how he did it. >> reporter: we're live in richmond where a house fire severely damages a home here. we spoke with the homeowner who says he's lucky to be alive. we'll have more on that when "mornings on 2" continues.

a search is underway for a drive who deliberately crashed into a concord video game store. ktvu's tara moriarty is at the scene to tell us what the driver was after and if the store will be open today. >> reporter: no, the store will not be opened today.

it's boarded up. the manager just put a sign on the board. can see there were dvds strewn all over the floor. shattered glass after someone drove through the door deliberately. the police say the thief smashed through the front door, metal framing, in order to steal items from a display case. it happened just before 4:00 this morning at the clayton county center. an alarm triggered the call to police. when officers arrived, it was a very dramatic-looking scene with a silver honda sitting in the store with the driver nowhere to be seen. police say the car is registered out of redwood city. they believe it was stolen. we're not sure if there was more than one thief and if they ran off and drove away. we spoke to the store manager. she's not allowed to appear on camera per her employer. she was pretty shocked. she's been here for the past

three years. she said she spent most of the morning sweeping up the glass. crews have boarded up the store to prevent any further looting. there's a camera in the store but it's pointed toward the direction of the cash register and not the area of the person driving through. we don't know if that will show anything. this is a big shopper center. there's cameras around here that could provide police with clues that will show who they are looking for. tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> all right, tara. hours ago a house in richmond. ktvu's brian flores is at the scene along jer raw lin road -- ger raw -- jeralyn road. what happened, brian? >> reporter: we are and out the 63 -- we're on the 6300 block of jeralyn. there is a lot of damage to the

back of the house. we just finished talking with the homeowner a few minutes ago. he's lived in the home for 17 years by himself. he says he was sound asleep at midnight. he woke up to his home completely blanketed and choking. he said it was so intense, he barely made it out alive. he said he believes the fire started in the kitchen but unsure how. he was treated for smoke inhalation but he's back home arresting -- resting. here's what he said. >> i'm so thankful that i'm alive. >> the center of the investigation, we'll -- we're having more witnesses and we'll investigations and we'll find out the cause of the fire. >> reporter: he ran to a nearby denny's to call for help, the homeowner said. he arrived back at 6:00 this

morning still shaken up. the homeowner said there's significant damage. he said it could have been much worse. we're live in richmond, nine flores, ktvu channel 2 news. the governor in connecticut is calling for a moment of silence on friday to mark one week since the double shooting at sandy hook elementary. church bells will ring 26 times to represent each person who died at the school. school classes resume with the exception of sandy hook. today, jessica rios will be buried. two boys were buried yesterday. and the national rifle association has been uncharacteristically quiet following this shooting. >> shame on the nra!

>> gun control advocates protested outside of the offices in washington, d.c. the nra has not releasedny statements since the -- released any statements since the shooting and its facebook page has disappeared following other mass shootings. new this morning, a private equity company where the california teachers' pension fund keeps some of its money. it says this will sell its stake to a gun manufacturer. yesterday, the teachers' pension fund said it was reviewing its investment in the private equity firm following the school shooting. two people were seriously hurt in oakland after being -- after being hit by a car. the man and woman were hit in

the crosswalk. they were later rushed to the hospital. the driver did stop and is cooperating with police. very busy san francisco mall was evacuated. a fire broke out in a restaurant. firefighters were called to the westfield san francisco center on market street about 8:15 last night. firefighters found smoke in the building. it was coming from a flue fire. they quickly put tut the -- put out the fire. no one was hurt. shoppers were allowed back in the mall. a public hearing will be held in san mateo about the future of a new 7-11 store. last night, protesters picketed outside of the 7-11 on northbound sonoma drive. they are worried about the noise and traffic in the area. they say because of zoning laws, the city should have never given the store a permit to open earlier this month. >> the 7-11 parachuted in

against the city laws. that's why we're here. we believe the city has not followed its own laws. >> the city council will determine whether the 7-11 will stay open since the land is technically zoned as a residential area. 7:37. sal is back. sal, you can take care of things on 880 right now? >> we're trying to. i think we're seeing good results. northbound 880. looking pretty good here as you pass the coliseum. maybe get a little bit slower later. but right now, it looks good. no major problems if you are driving at the toll plaza although there is a backup that stretches for about a 30-minute delay. it's crowded there. if you are driving on the peninsula, we've been keeping track. a lot of people say they are gonna get out of town for the weekend. now 11 minutes between 380 and san mateo on southbound 101 between 380 and 92. across the bay it looks good until you reach hayward and then it slows down.

students and staff at concord high school are houring the death of a star student athlete. 17-year-old montrell blakely who was tragically killed. the school principal showed us his senior pictures. they were just taken on saturday, only a few hours before he was shot and killed in san francisco's bayview district. word of the young football player's death shocked his family and friends and grief counselors met with some 50 students. >> he was a good kid. everybody knew who he was. everybody wanted to be around him. >> a candlelight vigil will be held friday night at the concord high school football field and his teammates plan to donate christmas trees to media

families in -- immediatey families in his -- needy families in his name. there is a special address to send letters and care packages to the survivors and their families in newtown, connecticut. the post office there expects a lot of mail. to show your support, send a box to 3700, newtown, connecticut. facebook will expand its nearby feature. until now, facebook uers -- users could see where their friends are. now it will compete with yelp. it will show what's nearby the users, including restaurants and businesses. users will be able to offer recommendations and ratings for those businesses. we want to check in with sal. what's going on in milpitas, sal? >> well, 237 westbound as you

welcome back to "mornings on 2." i'm tori campbell. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. it's tuesday, december 18th. well, eight people including firefighters needed medical care in redwood city because of a hazmat scare out there. ktvu's janine de la vega just talked to one of the victims. so what did they say? >> reporter: well, they are thinking about the memories last night and they said they had -- it was just a very -- he was released from the hospital.

his neighbors we're told are back at home safe. he thinks that they are still sleeping right now. he tells me his symptoms were terrible. he couldn't smell anything but had a difficult time breathing. just after eight last -- after 8:00 last night, the fire department was called to a mobile home on bay road. the elderly couple who lived inside set off a fogger used to fill fleas. firefighters say they did not leave the house and started to feel ill. firefighters say that couple's two dogs -- they had two dogs and didn't realize that they needed to leave the house when they set off the fogger. firefighters arrived and they were exposed as well. here's what victims had to say. >> i didn't smell anything for a while. but then i started to taste it in my mouth and i got cotton mouth right away. i got this headache and walked out front, the fire department grabbed me, put me out here, put me in a sub and -- tub and put me in a zoot suit and

hauled me away to the hospital. >> reporter: firefighters had everyone in the surrounding area shelter-in place-for a half-hour so they could not -- would not take in any -- would not take in any of the vapors. eight people were taken to the hospital for treatment. three firefighters and two ambulance workers the first responders are okay and one resident is okay. the elderly couple we're told is back at the house. the product that they used, their website said if you are gonna use one of these, set it off and you need to leave the

house. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. schools are open in newtown, connecticut except for sandy hook elementary. we're also learning more details about the mother of the shooter. people who knew her say she was devoted to her two children. she would come to school and help her son who was a quiet child to interact with other children. she would help friends and strangers. she was a gun enthusiast who owned multiple guns and frequently took her son to a shooting range. we still know very little about the shooter and why he did it. they hope to glean some information. >> we're also hearing an

amazing story of how one 6-year- old who was in one of the targeted classrooms survived. police say the little girl pretended to be dead in her first glace clam. experts say those images will probably haunt her for the rest of her life. after the deadly school shooting in connecticut, a lot of bay area schools are on high

alert. allie rasmus has more. >> reporter: things are back to normal here at sequoia elementary school. class just got underway. you can see some of the parents dropping their kids off at school. yesterday morning this school was in lockdown. someone called the front office and said "you're next" and hung up. the school's principal said she was not about to take any perceived threat lightly. >> by no means is this a laughing matter. people are apprehensive coming to school anyway this week. we need to make sure that we are staying calm and staying focused and staying safe. >> the principal at sequoia called police immediately after that rank call came in. this school -- prank call came in. this school, another school and went into lockdown. the school said the response

was not an overreaction and the parents we talked to agreed. >> it broke my heart that someone would call and scare the staff and school and also the parents. >> i want them to -- i wanted them to look down the school and the person who did this, they need to be punished. >> reporter: the principal into the mount diablo investigation has been launched and the police are working with the phone company to try to track down where that prink call came from so they can hold that person responsible. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. two young boys from vallejo, 12 and 13 years old, they are accused of breaking into a house and stealing a rifle. police say the boys broke into a house on irene drive yesterday. they were seen running with a

rifle case. both were arrested after a foot chase. police say when they questioned the children, one of them said he was going to use the rifle on police if they got -- police if they got too close. the 13-year-old is in juvenile hall. the 12-year-old was turned over to his parents. today a ripmond man is expected to be sentenced to death for killing his ex- girlfriend and another man at the richmond san rafael toll plaza in 2009. during his trial, nathan burris said he shot and killed debra ross and ercy everette because he was jealous of their relationship. he also said he had no regrets

an preferred the death penalty instead of life in prison. 8:05. a man to -- plan to expand a sikh temple in fremont is running into complaints. the temple is on ridarra road in the niles district. temple leaders want to expand it from 28,000 square feet to 41,000 square feet. some of the neighbors say traffic and parking were already a big problem because of the temple. food service workers at oakland international airport may go on strike this week. the workers say they've been without a contract for months. they will go on strike unless an agreement is reached by midnight thursday. now, the two sides are arguing over healthcare costs. the workers also say the airport contractor has proposed getting rid of paid meal breaks and freezing hourly wages. today, a proposal to lower

taxi medallion fees in oakland is being considered of the plan would reduce the fees in half to about $500 a year. every cabdriver needs a taxi medallion to really operate. two -- really operate. two city councilman proposed this. critics say since medallions are paid for by cabbie, the companies can decide how much to charge drivers even if the fees are low. new this morning -- new this moring, sandhill road has been reopened. this is after a suspected dui driver hit a fire hydrant. the driver was arrested. >> at first, the guiser was about 50 feet high. it was a constant stream of

police in concord are searching for a drive who drove his car through a video game store. tara moriarty has been there all morning. she's live there. >> reporter: west's just received information from that -- we've just receive some information that a radio shack in the area was hit this morning on ignacio valley road and oak grove road. they showed us pictures of the store all boarded up. this sa game shop here. you can -- this is a game shop here. you can see that someone drove right through the storefront. concord police say a brazen driver drove through the front door in order to steal items from a display shop.

it happened at 4:00 in the morning and and an alarm triggered the call to police. when the officers arrived, the car was still inside the car. the driver nowhere to be scene. police say the car was registered out of redwood city. te believe it was stolen. we're not sure if there's more than one thief and if they ran off or drove away in another car. crews have boarded up the store to prevent any looting. but it will remain closed today. this game shop is sandwiched between two stores. the sprint store said they don't display real smartphones, just dummies. there are two real ones but those are locked down and connected to an alarm. apparently the thief stole thousands of dollars worth of iphones. live in concord, tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news.

8:31. a rude awangenning for a rich -- awakening for a richmond man who woke up to find his house on fire. brian flores is at the scene. >> reporter: good morning. that man, that homeowner, is actually recovering inside his home. go ahead and take a look -- take a look. this is the house. not too much damage in the front of the house but a lot of damage in the back of the house. now, fire departments responded at around 3:00. we just finished retalking with a homeowner about an hour ago. he says that he was sound asleep around midnight when a couple of hours later he woke up with his home completely blanketed in smoke. he said it was so intense, he barely made it out alive. he believes that the fire started in the kitchen. it's still unclear how it officially started. he was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation but he was back here resting. here's more on what he had to

say. >> i had my fire alarm as i went to sleep. i went to sleep. everything is okay. in the middle of the night, i woke up choking on smoke. >> it's under investigation. more evidence and more interviews with the residents will find out the cause of the fire. >> reporter: again, that fire is under investigation. the homeowner, interestingly enough, he says he actually ran about a mile from here to a nearby denny's to call for help. he says he didn't want to bother his neighbors at the time. he did arrive back home at 6:00 this morning. still shaken up. but he tells us he's glad he's okay. back out here live, the homeowner says there's no significant damage to the front of the house but there is a lot to the kitchen, the floors and walls as well. brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. 8:33. crews will be shutting down

part of a busy contra costa road today because of a potential sinkhole. right now, one lane of marsh creek road in clayton is closed. crews are trying to fix the road because a culvert has failed and a potential sinkhole is starting to form. at 9:00 this morning, marsh creek will be completely shut down between deer valley road and pine lane. drivers will be reouted but people who live in the area will still have access to their homes. 8:34. sal is watching that and everything else. you are starting in contra costa county, though. >> that's right the we're looking at highway 4 to start this report off. highway 4 looks pretty good. it's improved a little bit. there goes b.a.r.t. b.a.r.t. is a good way to get there. if you are driving late this morning, it could be a benefit for you. 680 is slow. looking at the toll plaza, it's -- that's improve the quite a bit. it's still about a 15-minute delay. you can see the traffic coming

very sad. the family took a -- you know, as hard as any parent would take it, losing a first grader. >> reporter: a large crowd showed up to say goodbye to 6- year-old noah pozner. >> i just started to cry. i -- very close to home. >> reporter: students in the area head back to the school tuesday except for sandy hook elementary students. monday, supplies and equipment were moved to a school in a neighboring town where sandy hook students will eventually return to class. >> we really need to leave with love. that's what i'm seeing our community do. we're putting our arms around each other. >> reporter: it's ill stun known why the -- it's still unknown why the 20-year-old opened fire. >> we know that the people -- the people of the town of newtown, want to know what happened. we're going to do that. we're going to provide them any information and all

in connecticut. gun storeowners in states like oregon, virginia and texas, say many people are buying guns fearing for their own safety. other storeowners say the president's promise to deal with the issue has also caused an increase in sales. >> well, the connecticut school shooting has many people calling for stricter gun laws but not governor rick perry. coming up, solutions offered by perry to tea party supporters. 8:41. there are thieves who did more than just steal a christmas tree in vallejo. it's a heartbreaking story. we'll tell you what happened with this stolen tree. >> reporter: a prank call at an east bay school leads to a police investigation. why the school's principal and parents here say their response was not an overreaction. sorry, the s&p is up 11. flacks at school across the bay area will remain at half- staff until tonight to honor victims of friday's deadly shooting. many schools including pleasanton and san ramon districts have counselors and schools are sending out e-mails and making calls to parents ensuring their children are safe. they have several lockdown procedures in place. texas governor, rick perry, has a solution to prevent any more has shootings at schools. wants to arm teachers. he said knee-jerk gun control legislation is not the answers. he said teachers and administrators with proper training should be allowed to carry weapons on campus. >> if you go through the process and you have been duly backgrounded and trained and you are a -- a concealed

handgun license-carrying individual, you should be able to carry your handgun anywhere in the state. >> texas like some other states have seen a boom in gun sales since the newtown school shooting. some people say they are buying guns for protection. others say they fear gun control legislation would make it difficult to buy weapons in the future. >> after the deadly school shooting in connecticut, many bay area schools are still on high alert. allie rasmus is in pleasant hill with more about a scare yesterday and why two schools were searched. allie? >> reporter: well, classes in session here at sequoia middle school in pleasant hill. it's just another normal day here but yesterday morning it was a bit of a different story when all 800-plus students when the school went into lockdown. it was all because of a zaire that -- scare that turned out to be a prank. yesterday someone called the

front office and said, you are next, and then hung up. the school called police and then they went into lockdown and so did the elementary school and another nearby daycare. police say the sweep of the campus determined there was no real threat but the principal said their response was not an overreaction. >> there's no such thing. number one is safety. we have to ensure our students' safety and take those precautions necessary to ensure that safety. >> i appreciate their actions. i want them to lock the school down an have security on campus. i want them to be very safe. the person who -- the person who did this should be punished. >> reporter: the superintendent the mt. diablo school district has a -- says a full investigation has been launched with the police. the police are working with the school district's company to track down where that prank call came from and hold that person who made the call

situation overnight in redwood city. it happened on barron avenue. authorities say it appears people living in a mobile home set off a bug fogger that created those hazardous fumes. none of the injuries are believed to be serious. 8:49. in the story you will see only on 2, another christmas tree has been stolen from a family's front yard. these trees have great sentimental value. pam cook has the story of one man trying to celebrate the season while also dealing with heartbreak. >> for. second time in two years, someone has stolen a living christmas tree from a home in vallejo. chuck reed planted three trees in honor of his grandson who died of cancer a few years ago right after christmas day. one of the trees died. and then the last year, one of the trees was stolen and now this tree was taken right now of the -- right out of the
